Global Ship Lease Announces Third Quarter 2008 Earnings Release, Conference Call and Webcast

LONDON, ENGLAND--(Marketwire - Oct. 30, 2008) - Global Ship Lease, Inc (NYSE:GSL)(NYSE:GSL.U)(NYSE:GSL.WS), a rapidly growing containership charter owner and the twentieth largest in the industry, announced today that it will hold a conference call to discuss the Company's results for the third quarter of 2008 on Thursday, November 13, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. Eastern Time. The Company will also issue financial results for the third quarter ended September 30, 2008 on Thursday, November 13, 2008 before the open of market trading.

Incorporated in the Marshall Islands, Global Ship Lease commenced operations in December 2007 with a business of owning and chartering out containerships under long-term, fixed rate charters to world class container liner companies.

All of the vessels including those contracted for future delivery are under long-term charters with an average remaining charter term of approximately 10 years.
