Global Ship Lease is a containership owner, leasing ships to container shipping companies under industry-standard, fixed-rate time charters.

We were established in 2007, as a spin-off from CMA CGM – one of the world’s largest container shipping companies.

On August 15, 2008, as the result of a reverse merger with Marathon Acquisitions Corp., we became listed on the New York Stock Exchange under the ticker NYSE:GSL.

On November 15, 2018, we concluded a transformative strategic combination with Poseidon Containers, which doubled the size of our fleet, materially improved our capital structure, and substantially enhanced our commercial footprint and competitive positioning.
